The interior design of this summer house near the sea forms part of a holistic design approach encompassing architecture, interior, and landscape — all distilled to capture the essence of what a family truly needs for short stays in the Mediterranean.
While the overall atmosphere aligns with what is typically associated with Balearic summer homes, our design focuses on several distinctive features. A circular window seamlessly integrated into the entrance floor offers an intriguing first glimpse upon arrival — opening the view toward the wine-tasting area and play zone in the basement below. The staircase, too, became a key design element: open wooden treads without risers create maximum transparency between the front and back of the house, complemented by two carefully positioned windows — one vertical, one horizontal — that bathe the stairwell in natural light.
On the ground floor, all built-in furniture pieces for the wardrobe, kitchen, and library are finished in a bold azure blue, adding a refreshing contrast to the otherwise natural palette. The design also makes full use of the flat roofs, which host terraces on two levels, offering generous lounge and party areas during the warm season.
To the rear, a spacious pool with a south-facing sundeck forms the centerpiece of the garden, complemented by a small, separate spa that extends the home’s comfort into the cooler months.
