For any architect, it is a dream to be invited to design within such an extraordinary setting. This apartment, the only one of its kind, crowns the top floor of SOHO The Bund, offering an uninterrupted 360° panorama across Shanghai’s most treasured central districts. Extending along a generous open terrace, the layout follows a sequence of increasing privacy: beginning with the master bedroom at one end, overlooking the historic inner city, and culminating in a grand living room at the opposite end, facing the dramatic Pudong skyline and the curve of the Huangpu River.
SOHO The Bund is one of SOHO China’s landmark developments, where modern architecture—by German firm GMP—has been seamlessly interwoven with the elegance of traditional Shanghai Art Deco, creating a refined symbiosis of past and present. For the interiors, we carried this dialogue forward: combining subtle Art Deco elements—such as fine dark accent lines—with a distinctly metropolitan spirit. Gentle hints of pink and green soften the otherwise streamlined design language, enriching the cool, contemporary ambience with a touch of warmth and sophistication.
